ملخص البحث:
تحتل العقوبات الاقتصادية  الدولية  أهمية بالغة  في عصرنا الحديث خاصة  في ظل التطورات التي تشهدها الساحة الدولية، وتعتبر أحد أهم الوسائل العقابية المطبقة وذلک لتأثيرها الکبير والتي وصفت على أنها سلاحاً فتاکاً اکثر من الحروب، ويظهر هذا التأثير بشکل جلي حين فرضت على العراق وليبيا، وهي الآن تطبق بين الحين والاخر مثل إيران وکوريا الشمالية. وانطلاقاً من الأهمية التي اکتسبتها العقوبات الاقتصادية واعتبارها أحد الوسائل العقابية التي يلجأ إليها المجتمع الدولي وفق ما تقتضيه ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، التي  استخدمت  هذا الأسلوب للمحافظة على السلم والأمن الدوليين، إلا أنه تم أغفال الاعتبارات الإنسانية في حال فرضها على الدولة المنتهکة لقواعد القانون الدولي.

Abstract:
International economic sanctions occupy great importance in our modern era, especially in light of the developments in the international arena, and are considered one of the most important punitive means applied due to their great influence, which has been described as a more lethal weapon than wars, and this effect appears clearly when it was imposed on Iraq and Libya, and it is now Apply every now and then like Iran and North Korea. And based on the importance of economic sanctions and considering them one of the punitive means used by the international community in accordance with the requirements of the United Nations Charter, which used this method to maintain international peace and security, however, humanitarian considerations were neglected if they were imposed on the state in violation of the rules of international law.
